Owned by California farmers, our commitment to quality begins in the orchard and carries through from the processing plant to the consumer. Our heritage attracts the best prune farmers around the world, allowing our sourcing network to expand into Chile, Argentina and Australia. This network hedges against weather events and ensures consistent availability of product. We also have a history of innovation and working collaboratively with customers to deepen market penetration and enhance profitability.

INNOVATION AND SCALE

We constantly look for better ways to process prunes. Our proprietary pitting system is ten times more effective than any other. We are also early adopters of technology and hold numerous patents related to pit removal, drying, and packaging. We have state-of-the art drying and processing facilities, not only at our nine-hectare Yuba City, California facility but also now in our new operation in Chile. Investing in the southern hemisphere allows us to offer supply security and support buyers as they expand their markets.

Summary: Tunnel-dried prunes pitted with proprietary pitters; available in sizes ranging from 40/50 to 80/90 counts with low-moisture and high-moisture options.

Our highest quality line, Sunsweet Brand bulk prunes are the best prunes from grower partners in California, Chile, Australia, and Argentina. The fruit is fully tunnel dried within 24 hours of harvest to ensure uniform flavor and texture as well as low levels of yeast and mold. Processing takes place in our factories in either California or Chile and uses our state-of-the art proprietary “Sunsweet” pitters. The pit tolerance is .05%, a level 10 times better than most global offerings. Due to the high level of uniformity, our system allows us to sell Sunsweet bulk prunes on a “final count” basis. Available sizes range from 40/50 prunes per pound to 80/90.

Superior quality punch-pitted prunes

Summary: Tunnel-dried or tunnel-finished prunes in the “punch-pitted” style; available in sizes ranging from ex-30/40 to ex-70/80.

Sun Gold Brand bulk prunes use the top prunes from grower partners in California, Chile, Australia, and Argentina and are processed either in Chile or California. The drying method is tunnel-dried or tunnel-finished, in which the fruit is only partially dried in tunnels. Sun Gold prunes are pitted with the industry-standard “punch-pitted” style with a pit tolerance of .25%. Available sizes range from ex-30/40 to ex-70/80 on a “pitted from” basis, the standard currently used by most global prune sellers.

Summary: Sun-dried, tunnel-dried, or tunnel-finished prunes available whole or in the “punch pitted” style; pitted fruit available in sizes ranging from ex 50/60 to ex 70/80 and whole fruit available in sizes ranging from 30/40 to 100/110

Golden Glow Brand bulk prunes are sourced from Chile, Argentina, or Australia and include whole and pitted prunes. Whole prunes are either sun-dried, tunnel-dried, or tunnel-finished. Pitted prunes are only made from sun-dried fruit and are pitted with the industry-standard “punch-pitted” style. Pit tolerance is 0.5%. Natural condition and processed whole prunes are sold on a final-count basis while pitted prunes are sold on a “pitted-from” basis.
